Jury duty,Im disabled, ive told them that im disabled. I got off with a phone call telling im disabled. 2 years later I got a letter again for jury duty I call them this time to tell themim disabled & they told me that I need a doctors paper. but whos ganna pay for this doctors visit. there not because I asked. one of the best thing I can say. if u get Jury Duty Letter in the mail Write return to sender. because if u move u cant get the letter. then its not your fault. would help me & am i rite?

  1. Just because your disabled shouldn't stop you from doing jury duty.  I'm sorry but i think it's important that if you are called to do jury duty and you are of sound mind,  you should do your civic duty.  

    Unless you have a proper valid reason not to be able to do it,  you should.


  2. This depends on what state you live in and what those laws are. Here is Texas, you can go see a district judge and get a permanent exemption if you can convince him you're disabled and can't afford to get a letter from a doctor.

  3. Call or write your doctor's office and ask them to send a letter explaning your disability and how hard it would be for you to serve on a jury. Doctors don't charge for that service. If the judge thinks you should be excused you will be. Keep copies of the letter and send it every time you're called. If you can serve at all you should. It's very interesting and will give some amazing insight as to how our justice system really works. I found out that lawyers can out right lie in court (knowing they are lying) and nothing will happen to them because they're not under oath.
