  1. If you are selected for a jury, listen, learn, and appreciate thet you live in a country that provides everyone with a chance at a trial by jury. It's an imperfect system, but it is the best one in the world.

If not, bring a good book.

  2. IF your paperwork says you after to report, you will go to the courthouse and be put in the jury pool.  They will ask you questions and if you are lucky you will get chosen for a jury.  You may also have a note on your paperwork that says if you are within a certainly range of numbers you only need to call in.

  3. as young as you are you'll probably be dismissed by one of the attorneys

but you go in and basically fill out a little questionnaire then you wait

the attorneys will chose the ones they don't want on the jury (usually this is selected by age race s*x ect)

and if your chosen you'll have to come back for the trial

jury duty is a privilege for every American take it seriously

there are too many idiots who consider it a waste of our time but this is part of what makes our country great

  4. Of all the times I have had to serve, it was a case of getting questioned on being  impartial........

then sitting around for 2 days while the states attorney and the defendants attorney played barter across the hallway  and then a plea bargain....."we have served a use-full purpose by our presence so to make the defendant consider a plea "

any criminal action that does go to trial, in the back of your mind you have to believe what they tell you about presumed innocent,  if the defendant is guilty why would he risk the full sentence he would get with the trial  vs half the time on a plea.....

    yea and bring a book....

  5. just sit there

  6. Depends on if its Civil or Criminal court room!

Both are handled differently in most courts.

usually your notice to appear states which type of court you are attending!

You would probably get the boot in a criminal case, but you may live through a civil case.
