Just Hooked up my amplifier. i was just wonderin, under trunk carpet there's a gas tank cover with bolts.?

i placed my amp ground to the bolts. is that safe?

  1. Eh well I wouldn't risk it. There is a current coming out of the amp to the ground. I'm sure it'll be fine but there are usually many other bolts located around the trunk that you can use such as the seat belt bolts. Just make sure it's bare metal and has no paint or coating on it.


  2. to be safe, I'd move the ground somewhere else. I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure that electricity and gasoline don't mix.

  3. probally not very safe and may cause ground loop, when your fuel pump turns on resulting in a whining noise that increases with your rpms.
