Just Lille to take down Halla San in the St John Ambulance Claiming Stakes at Beverley
Hosting the Class 6 St John Ambulance Claiming Stakes over a mile, four furlongs and sixteen yards, is Beverley racecourse. It is scheduled for three-year-old and above runners for Tuesday, 26th June.
Leading the line-up with the most potent credentials is Just Lille. Mull Of Kintyre’s nine-year-old bay mare is out of mare, Tamasriya. She has only raced once during the new season, and as far as the previous season is concerned, she turned in just three races.
Two out of those three races were won by the nine-year-old.
She won the Sportingbet.Com Claiming Stakes on 21st May at York over a mile and four furlongs. Riding with Silvestre De Sousa, she led the runner up of the race, Sunwise, by two and one-half lengths. The 100 to 30 favourite of the race, Halla San, wound up third in a field of six.
Halla San and Just Lille will share the track once again today.
She then dictated the terms of the Subscribe Online At Racinguk.Com Claiming Stakes on 12th September at Musselburgh over a mile and 1 furlong.
The Ann Duffield trained was paired up with Silvestre De Sousa, and the two notched the race by 3 ¾ lengths.
Sunnyside Tom concluded the race closest to the winner in second, while the 13 to 8 favourite, Charlie Cool, managed the fourth position out of six runners.
Her final outing of the previous season saw her losing grip on her consistency, as she finished fourth in the E B F “Archipenko” Fillies’ Handicap on 28th October, 2011, at Newmarket over one mile and four furlongs.
The race was won by the 7 to 2 favourite of the race, Hawaafez.
Her seasonal debut brought out the same result, a fourth position in the Stobart Doncaster Shield (Conditions Stakes) on 1st April at Doncaster over the same distance as the aforementioned race.
Eternal Heart won the race while the 5 to 4 favourite, King Of Wands, settled as the runner up.
After ending fourth twice with jockey, Paul Hanagan, today she is paired up with Graham Lee, and the two will break from the second stall to close in over the distance.
She will need to keep a check on, Halla San, who might just monopolise on today’s chance to kill the drought that dates back to 2007.
