Just The Judge confirmed for Irish 1,000 Guineas – Horseracing News
Just The Judge has been confirmed to take part in the Irish 1,000 Guineas at Curragh in Ireland on Sunday, May 26, 2013. She appeared in a training session and pleased her team with her fitness level.
Therefore, her trainer Charlie Hills confirmed, “Just The Judge will run in the Irish 1,000 Guineas on Sunday after pleasing myself, Jamie Spencer and David Redvers this morning.”
The three-year-old filly is relatively new to the sport but has proved to be one of the finest challengers owned by Qatar Racing Limited & Sangster Family. Her record is a terrific one and clearly proves what
she is capable of achieving at the highest level.
She made her debut in June last year and was given extremely good odds straightaway because of her strong pedigree. Although she was challenged by some of the other stallions too, she managed to finish on top
of the table after a thrilling encounter.
Afterwards, the Irish filly appeared in a couple of more races in 2012 and her performances in them were brilliant. She was not rated as the favourite on both occasions but still managed to upset her rivals,
completing a strong debut season.
With three victories to her name, Just The Judge entered the 2013 season with confidence and took on some strong runners in a Group 1 race at Newmarket. Although she proved to be quite strong in the all important
competition, her speed was not enough to secure a victory.
Despite that, the talented performer finished as a runner up in the end and signalled her team that she was ready for other major events such as the Irish 1,000 Guineas. This time though, things appear to be
slightly easier for her, as she does not have any threats from her opponents.
Looking at that, the bookmakers have priced her as the favourite to succeed, which will put her under some pressure too. She will have to look out for Viztoria, who is an equally talented filly and has got a
decent record at this level.
The Edward Lynam’s trained filly has appeared in one event this year and was victorious in it, which means that her confidence level will be high right now.
