Just The Judge set to appear in her first race above on mile – Horseracing news
Just The Judge is all set to take part in her first ever race beyond one mile at Goodwood. She will be representing her camp in the Markel Insurance Nassau Stakes.
The three-year-old filly has been impressive right from the start of her career and has never dropped out of the top-three. Her stamina seems to be really good, but she has never ran over one mile, which has raised some doubts about her.
However, her trainer Charles Hills said, “We are looking at the Nassau Stakes for Just The Judge. She has come out of the Coronation Stakes in very good form and I am pleased with her. Obviously, the draw didn't help at Ascot but she still ran a very good
race. She got caught a bit wide and I would say that cost her second.”
The Irish filly started off her career last year and her performances were terrific back then. She took part in three races and managed to win all of them. However, she had to compete against some quality runner this year, thus she has found things to be
a touch difficult. Despite that, she has kept a decent record and has not made life easy for her opponents.
As a result, Hills added, “We have been looking forward to stepping her up in trip and I don't think a mile and a quarter will be a problem for her. I can even see her getting a bit further than that next year.”
Overall, Just The Judge has represented her camp in six races and managed to win four out of them. Other than that, she has finished as a runner up and in third place once each, which proves her quality.
Lawman’s daughter took part in a tough race at the Royal Ascot during the previous week, but failed to win it in the end. She was up against some better runners, thus third place would have been satisfying for the entire camp.
Although Just The Judge was not ready to win at Ascot this year, she will be a force to reckon with during the next season, as she is headed in the positive direction.
