  1. there are lots of websites you can look up that will help you choose the right foods to stay healthy. I applaud you! i gave up beef right after i learned about all that stuff. Im working on giving up chicken and fish now. And i never ate pork so... yeah im trying to become a vegetarian also. Its totally sick what they do to those animals. So yeah you can look it up on the internet there are billions of them. Also, there are magazines you can subscribe to and vegetarian cook books you can buy just about anywhere. Good luck! <333

  2. i read on the peta website, that an average vegetarian saves about 100 animals per year.  how great is that!  more and more people are becoming vegetarians these days and you can be one of them:)  and then you'll influence someone else and then so on.. and less animals will be tortured and killed for the sake of food.  i suggest any time you are tempted by meat, go and watch that meat your meat video again, and realize that if you go and have some steak, that is what you are supporting.

    hope i helped a little!

  3. if your family eats meat all of the time try some of the morning star or boca meat substitutes.  They have thing that can be made into just about anything and they are fairly easy to cook.

  4. PETA does make things look worse than it really is. I hate that video, and I personally am not a big fan of PETA either.

But, I just recently became a vegetarian 3 months ago, and I'm 14.

My parents are pretty good about it. And it's really dificult to stop eating meat first, but you just have to do it. Find alternatives that taste just as good, if not better. If you are really passionate about being a vegetarian, than it shouldn't be too dificult. I also have a vegetarian friend, so she helped a lot. [:

I eat the veggie wraps at Subway, absolutley delicious. Also, I'll get loaded cheeseburgers at resteraunts without the actual burger, and it tastes just the same to me.

  5. Remember PETA is going to make it look bad.  Yes there are a few A@#holes that abuse animals but it is extremely far from the norm.  PETA is a bunch of freaks that will use any tactic possible to get their agenda across including lies. Especially LIES

Ok so i just watched the video for myself.  That is BS, most of the videos appeared to be from other countries and several looked like third world.  I have never seen anything like that happen in a normal facility, and it kept saying this and that was happening while the animal was still alive, no they are not what you see is nerves twitching.

Like i said they will use lies and in this video they did a great job. If i didnt know better it might make me feel sick.

  6. You need to learn how to cook. This isn't an optional thing. If you are going to eat a different diet than your parents, you can't make it a burden. Some people have wonderful parents that will do their best to make this sort of thing easy, but in the end, the longer you've been learning to cook for yourself, the better off you'll be when you move out.

If you do this the right way, there is no way that they can complain, because you'll take care of your own meals and it will be super cheap.

Bread, pasta, cereal, rice, beans, peas, lentil, nuts, seeds, fruits and veggies can easily offer everything that you need except B12.

All vegetarians should take a B12 supplement regularly since most people eat meat, dairy AND fortified cereals yet still have a B12 status that is lower than recommended.

It may help you if you see proof that vegan people have the same potential as anyone else.

If you need meat or dairy during any stage of your life or to live any certain lifestyle, why does the American Dietetic Association say otherwise?
