Question:

Just What Was So Bad About The Allstate 400?

Everyone seems to have hated it. All they say is it was boring or it was sad, but no one explained why. Here's why I say it was good -

Lots of passing

It was a team race

An exciting finish

Lots of suspense not knowing when someone's tire would burst

watching Junebug come all the way from a lap down

seeing who could capitlize on cautions

Just what exactly was so terrible about the race?

  1. lots of passing in the pits

    huge pitcrew race

    huge pitting finish

Lots of suspense of when the next caution would come

wastin 3 hours of my afternoon

seeing who could change two tires fastest.

    yeah sounds fun to me.

and i kon wat ur gonna say

"its just not fun for u to watch becuz kyle busch had a 15th place finish"

    thats not it

its becuz i had a perfect afternoon to go swimming

but instead i thought it would be a good race to watch.

  2. i'm not sure.

i think it was a great race.

    i agree with you.

    congrats to Jimmie =D

  3. What race?  All I saw was a bunch of caution laps broken up by 10-minute bursts of speed.  They might as well have cancelled today's race.

  4. The tires exploding and all the short races...

  5. nothing

  6. You are right.  It was very suspensful.  I hated the outcome because my driver's tire exploded, and Matt finished 38th or so.  If he misses the chase by less than 50 points, I will look back at the Indy race.  But you are right, it wasn't a bad race.  The cautions kept the cars bunched up pretty good so the leaders didn't really break away that much.

  7. you forgot that Kyle Busch was barely up at the front =)

  8. it wasnt the racing we were used to seeing but yea it was different to see how they would use strategy knowing the tires were bad, i honestly wish they would of let them just run with 30 laps to go with no cautions, that defitinitly wouldve shook things up

  9. Here's why I think it was bad-

    Not a lot of passing

    Boring finish

    Blown tires dictating the outcome

    Too many cautions

  10. Once they figured out when to call the competition cautions, it wasn't so bad. Prior to that, it was a little unsettling, and someone could've gotten seriously hurt, not knowing when a tire was going to just explode.

But you're right, it wasn't that bad.

  11. Not seeing everyone take a gamble and take two tires earlier.

The tire wear situation was beyond belief!

    and...the competition yellows!

    Goodyear fixed this race!

  12. Way too many cautions and the tired they used today sucked

Luckily no one got hurt but if a tire went down it could have been a disaster for Nascar

  13. yeah too many short races.

  14. It was not boring, and the cautions like any other race could not be helped.

people that call racing boring, really do not understand the concept of it.....and thus it is boring to them.

    Love Nascar or leave it....,.

  15. When youre racing 190MPH against 42 people, you shouldn't have to worry about your tire exploding and, in Kenseth's case, HALF THE SIDE of the car being torn off.

Goodyear dropped the ball into the street, chased after it and got ran over with this one.

  16. The only race was in the pits1!!

  17. *claps* :) I'm glad that someone's also trying to see the positives.

  18. Gee I don't know, why don't we just have all the races like this from now on.  Won't that be great!

On second thought, call me old fashioned but I tend to like my races go more than ten laps before a mandatory pit stop.  As for your list of reasons why it was great let's analyze that:

Lot's of passing I can see at any race, same for a team race.

Exciting finish?  Apparently you've never seen an exciting finish if you think that was.  But then again you think 88 dominates.

Tires burst in other races too bud, although be it not every ten laps

Jr from a lap down.  You got me there, he usually doesn't get laps back.

Seeing who can capitalize on cautions, again, nothing new here.

Bottom line, crappiest race I've seen since I can remember.  That's not how races are suppose to happen.  I bet the majority of Drivers, owners, Nascar officials, and Goodyear officials will agree.

  19. it was great only thing i didint like is they could have extended the cations one more lap and i would be even happier kyle would have hit the wall or had to pit early!!!

watever he still finished in 15th
