Seville, Spain or Costa del Sol, Spain & why?

I'm planning to go to Spain in June. I am sure I want to go to Barcelona and Madrid but also want to visit one more place.

Any input appreciated! ;-)

  1. Well, it would depend on what you are looking for.  Seville would be your option if you visiting for the more historical end.  Try the Costa del Sol if you are visiting for a tan or the study of how many condos can line a coastline.  For a more modern twist I would reccommend Valencia.

  2. Seville, without a doubt.  Costa del Sol is totally PLASTIC and not really Spain...unless you move away from the main cities, making sure you get away from the big touristy enclaves, but then, you're probably no longer on the coast, are you?  Lots of gorgeous territory in the middle of Andalucía.

Seville is much the more important city historically and culturally, and you'll surely find all the partying you can handle there.  Just no beaches.

Oh, but in June, be prepared for HOT!

  3. Pay attention to SUE or Dinodino. I'm from Spain and I'm agree with them. Seville is a must-see in Spain, but Cordoba is closer to Madrid, it's a better choice if you want to visit Madrid and Barcelona. Costa del Sol is very spoilt and oriented to mass-tourism. As SUE said, it's not the real Spain, it's an artificial place just for foreginers, altough some little towns still conserve the Spanish enchant, but most of them are just summer-resorts. Spain is more than that.

  4. The Costa del Sol is very built up and full of partying Brits and Germans. There are a few lower key spots like Nerja.

Seville is a great place to visit, but it will be pretty hot in June. Also, Cordoba is on the way from Madrid to Seville and worth a visit. Also Granada should be considered. These are all relatively close to each other.

You should definitely visit Toledo, it is just an hour away from Madrid.

You do realize that Barcelona is around five hours from Madrid and in the opposite direction from Seville?

  5. Madrid for museums and monuments is great, as is Barcelona...

If for a change you relax on the Costa del Sol a few days, you will recuperate from all the sightseeing in both cities.

In june the weather is usuallly fantastic...great for a walk to the beach and your hotels pool for swimming.

And...if you have the time, take at least one "daytrip"... If you have time for only one do Granada (no one should leave Andalucía without having seen La Alhambra!!), if two days, the second should be Seville. And Cordoba for a third.

  6. both barcelona and madrid are big cities.  lots of museum and interesting places to visit.

would suggest you go costa del Sol for a change.  just enjoy the sunshine, beaches, and the coastal scenary...

    you won't regret.

  7. spain,

it seems like a place where you could really relax
