It seems that Lucious Malfoy is sometimes a coward, but with everything that was going on, do you think he would have done anything to protect/save his family? Like for instance if Lord Voldemort was about to kill Narcissa and Draco, do you think Lucious woulld have done something, or what? How far do you think he would go?

  1. I think that in the end, he would've. Because no matter how much of a coward he is, he still cares about his family. He might even have given his life.

  2. No, I don't think he would have done anything. I think Lucius, like Bellatrix, valued Voldemort above anyone else.

  3. i agree with yankee

  4. Yes, even though he is a coward he cares deeply about his family! He probably would sacrifice himself for his family! "Ginerva" is absolutly correct!

  5. I think he would have done something. Not an act of bravery or anything but I bet he would have begged and pleaded and tried to bargain with Voldemort. I could also see him ratting out someone else for something to take the heat off of his family while he quietly thought of a plan to escape. If all else failed I honestly can't imagine what he would do. I don't think this would have happened within the context of the books though. The Malfoys were a great resource to Voldemort, he wouldn't have spared them out of compassion, but certainly out of convenience. I could see him torturing them all though, and Lucious would have done nothing about that.

  6. I think he would have but only to some extent. Like when Snape asked Voldy to spare Lily, if Voldy was after Draco and Narcissa, Lucious would have tried to ask Voldemort to spare them. If he said no, he might sneak around asking other death eaters to help change Voldy's mind, or to protect his son and wife. But he would take no action himself and stand against Voldemort and fight for his wife and son. He does not have that much courage in him. He would try, but most likely fail.

It's not like he didn't care. He did, but he also feared too. This is proven in the last book, Narcissa and Lucious only cared about finding their son when it came down to it. Obviously though, Narcissa is shown the care more, because she sought after snape to protect Draco in the half blood prince. But i think Lucious cares just the same way and same amount. But his fear of the dark lord would probably prevent him from saving his family if he were in that situation.

  7. the dude is a coward.  he wouldn't try to save his family.  voldemort has him whipped

  8. Yes, I think he would have! Lucius was an evil coward, but if there is one compliment I can give him, is that he really loves his family, and to him they come first. An example of this is in the seventh book, before Voldermort sends Lucius to find Snape, Lucius asks him to call the "troops" back and rather find Potter himself, becaus Potter might be killed by someone elses Hands. Voldermort wasnt fooled by this, he knew that Lucius only cared about the safety of his son, because Draco was still in the castle.

It is also important to note that in the LAST battle, Lucius and Narcissa werent even fighting, they were running looking for there son, they didnt care about Voldermort anymore...

This I think proves beyond a reasonable doubt that Lucius, would have done anything to save his FAMILY!

  9. hmmm well this is a hard one only because we don't know that much about lucius and how close he is with his family (we dont know the details) but im willing to bet that anyone would try to save the ones they love, even lucius......he might not have done something brave like challenge voldemort or ask for his death instead of his families, but he might've begged, made a deal and such...he would probably go as far as crying but nothing to actually risk his own life...

  10. he thinks ofhimself as supereior he woudnt have really treid to save them in fear of voldemort killing him too, he couldve warn them before time , but voldemort will find out. so no he wouldnt but narcissa would.

  11. i agree with Ginerva, he would protect his family.

  12. By the way that the Malfoys acted at the end of the deathly Hallows [they went to the castle and did not fight, but looked for their son], I think that he would have done something, but that doesn't mean that it would have saved them. I don't think that he would duel Voldy straight away, but pleas, or maybe trying to switch him with Cissy and Draco would surely be made.

  13. i think he would do something because as far as i can remember or maybe in my own opinion in the deathly hallows book lucius wanted to stop the fight in hogwarts because he wanted to see if draco malfoy is safe, he have his wand to voldemort, he offered his own home to be their base if he did not do any of these his family would perhaps be gonners if you're gonna ask how is he going to protect his family if he doesn;t have a wand well we know his a death eater he trusted voldemort if he do all his biddings his family would be safe thats what usually happens

  14. I don't think he would have. He views his wife as a nuisance, and somewhat stupid besides, and would have reasoned that his son needs to learn to stand up for himself.

  15. He would not have stood up to the Dark Lord for nothing. Your right he was a coward. And if the dark lord killed his wife and son, most likely he's on the list too.

edit: i think Ginerva makes a really good point. i agree he cared for his family. but i don't think he would have went as far as to attack Voldemort for the sake of them.

  16. Lucius wouldn't. He cares more about appeasing Voldemort than his family. He did spoil his sonm, badly though so the jury's out on Draco.

  17. He probably would have; it depends on how much his love to his family surpassed his fear from voldemort.
