Just a random question about cigarettes ?

Does anyone know what is in cigarettes that cause anxiety? I have a anxiety disorder and although i don't smoke and haven't for almost 3 years i remember getting really bad anxiety after smoking not always........sometimes even the next day. Kinda like the anxiety i would get the day after a night of drinking. Any ideas thoughts?

might be any of the poisons in it including the arsenic and rat poison, also nicotine might be it
