  1. is this supposed to be a trick question?  There are an infinite number of common multiples of 4 and 9.  1/3*sqrt(infinity) = infinity

  2. "common multiples" means a number divisible by both 4 and 9.

    Work backwards with the facts:

    1. Find a common multiple of 4 and 9 (multiply the two will give you one).

    2. Take the square root.

    3. Take 1/3 of that.

    I get 2.

    William

  3. I don't know what "added together common multiples" is, I'm assuming you mean the sq root of the two terms multiplied

    Brian = 1/3 * sq root (4 x 9)

    =1/3* sq root (36)

    =1/3 * 6

    =2
