Is motor racing just a waste of petrol / gas ??

Yes, I think so.

Here in the UK the Chancellor has just made our motoring much more expensive and we have to think twice before driving every mile and when we buy another car, and yet the racing and rally scene just keep grinding round and round.  A total waste of fuel.  Don't forget speedboat racing, go-kart racing and all the other motorised sports.

yes it is, a huge waste. but i have heard that they use a different blend of gasoline, so i m not sure what difference that makes.

I could think of several things we do that are for fun, and we could do without them, and they all wasting energy.

Does it mean that to save energy we must stop having all those fun things.

The fuel people use on the way to watch a car race is much more than the fuel the racing cars use.

We would save a lot more energy if we all drove to work in a car pool. and there we have a chance to make some friends too.

Absolutely yes, its also causing even more unnecessary pollution of fumes and noise too.
