Just an investing question...?

Question

So, my grandfather's recently died and my grandmother's giving each of the grandchildren a thousand dollars, as per his last wishes.

My question's pretty simple: what should I do with it? My grandpa was a penny pincher and would rather see me invest it but I lack the knowledge to do so.

Help?

You could put it in a CD until you learn more about investing.  A solid highly rated mutual fund could also work.
