  1. IDk. That didnt happen to me and I have 3 tattoos (wrist, sholder blade, and hip). I think it might happen if your nervouse or scared of needles

  2. I just got my first tattoo yesterday, but i didn't pass out nor get dizzy. My stomach did hurt a little but maybe it was from the anxiety i was getting. I was more scared on if it'll hurt or not, but once the needle touches you, you calm down. but i guess people pass out because they have a thing against needles, and because of peoples pain tolerance.

  3. It can be a combination of things. If you haven't eaten or slept well, or are feeling run down, then you can get lightheaded (particularly if you have low blood sugar).

Sometimes it's the psychological effect. You're thinking about the pain, worrying, anticipating it, and the more you do that, the more stressed you get! It's the "fight or flight" reflex, where your body knows it's in a situation where you might get hurt, so all the blood rushes to the core of your body and away from your extremities, including your head, so you're more likely to fait of feel lightheaded.

  4. Because loss of blood equals loss of blood sugar. Always eat before you get inked. The food in your belly offers some nourishment which will keep you awake. Carb-load - pasta and potatoes are great for this.

After nearly passing out during one of mine, I was given a lollipop by the artist, which perked me right up. I now never go get inked without bringing along a non-diet soda (which I usually don't drink) and a candy bar. They help!

The bigger the tattoo and the longer the tattoo takes, the more you need a piece of candy with you.

  5. My old tattoo artist had this happen to a few people.  He said it's because the adrenaline in your body just overwhelms you.  And for some people that causes them to pass out or whatever.  He said one guys passed out and then shat himself!!  Ahahahaha...sucks to be that guy.  It all has to do with adrenaline.

  6. Do you hold your breath ? This will cause dizziness and some people to pass out. It may help if you watch what the artist is doing while he is tattooing you. Sometimes a persons mind wanders away with what they are feeling, this can also cause a person to pass out. Just remember to hold still and breathe. I hope this helps. Good Luck !

  7. Some people just have that reaction to the pain.

I would suggest having a pop or apple juice next to you and sip on it during the tattoo, or suck on a sucker or hard candy. sugar will help keep you from getting nauseated.

  8. It's your body reacting to the stress, both physical and mental. Make sure you eat about an hour before getting work done, lots of carbs and protein.

  9. I have no problems, u should eat before u get it I don't know why they say that but it helps in some way. I have 5 tattoos & they all hurt but I never has a problem I just sweat a little bit.

  10. Having low blood sugar is the likely cause for getting light headed, passing out, dizzy, etc. Eat a good meal, take along a soda or candy or gum (something with sugar) to balance out your sugar levels if you start to feel light headed. And by all means, let the artist know you need a break to regroup. They don't want you getting dizzy or anything else either.

  11. have u eaten before you gone.  also are you comfy when you getting inked.  any thing else it might just be that your body isn't up for the pain or your not taking enough brakes.
