Question:

Just applied for a job at Subway, what next?

I've had the interview already, and things went very smoothly. The manager liked me a lot and heavily implied that I'd be working with them soon. I got a phone call earlier today saying that I should come in on Thursday 11am to 2pm for a trial, to wear black pants and white runners, and so on.

Does that mean I got the job? If not, what should I expect/do in order to properly get the job? If I did already get the job, what should I expect/do for the next few weeks while I am "trained"? I have never worked at Subway before. I just want to know what to expect in the near future. Thanks.

  1. Congratulations on your NEW JOB,

By asking you to come in for a trial you have shown something that peaked their interest in you.

Before you go to work, send a thank you card for giving you the opportunity to work for them. When you go in for your shift on tuesday

please come prepared, Clean cloths that are ironed, propper hair length, get a hair cut and a manacure if needed. A fresh shave too.

Get a lot of sleep the night before, arrive EARLY!!!! bring a pen and a note pad to take notes. Remember to smile, say yes sir/ no sir!

Thank them for giving you the opportunity to work for Subway.

PAY ATTENTION your 1st day, Offer to help, ask questions, Listen to what they ask you to do. Please remember that we all started somewear, But most of all you will be earning a real paycheck, in a real reastaurant, for doing a real job. This in NOT playtime or time to make calls on your cell while you are on the clock.

when it is not busy ask if there is some side work (cleaning/restocking) that you could do.

Most important is a clean work area, and happy customers.

Don't forget to up-sale *(ask if they would like chips, cookies, soup with their order). The only way you get money is if you make money for the buissines

  2. Don't eat the food. Go out for lunch !!

  3. Subway is a pretty cool place to work. I've worked there for 2 years. Don't send a thank you card like this guy above me said. That's too stuffy.

On thursday, you'll go in and do some paperwork. Make sure to have your driver's license and social security card with you.

You definitely have the job. The most important part now is to go in and be yourself and get along with the people there. The job itself is not hard, but pay attention to the menu and relax. There will be angry customers but don't let them bog you down.

Another thing about Subway is if you walk out or get fired, you can never work for them again. Try to always resolve things with your manager and keep in good spirits. Grats on your new job!!
