  1. It's great that you are becoming vegan:)  Don't eat McDonald's French fries if you reside in the US.  They contain beef tallow.  Also don't eat gelatin because it's made by boiling animal parts.  Gelatin is found in anything from candy to pastries.

Read all of the ingredients twice to be sure there is no meat.  Even read ingredients on things you would never think to check.  Read ALL labels.

It's a little tricky in the beginning, but it gets so much easier over time.  Just stick to your guns and don't give up.

  2. my friend is vegan and im trying to think of some of the random things she cant eat:

    ummm...

    slurpees

most chocolate flavored snacks... EXCEPT OREOS YOU CAN EAT! :D!

ughh im sorry im no help. there are so many things that she tells me she cant eat that i find totally bizzare but i cant think of any rite now!

  3. Caesar dressing has anchovies. Most spinach artichoke dip contains bacon.

Pretty much, try to get in the habit of reading labels. It sucks at first, but after a week or two it will become second nature.

Any level that you take your veganism to is totally your choice. I too am vegan, but I'll wear leather that I've had for a while, ect ect. I also take medication, and the pill capsules contain glycerin which is an animal derivitive.

There is no wrong way to be a vegan (unless you are knowingly eating animal products... As long a you are making an effort in your mind, then you are good in my book.)...

  4. #1 why are you a vegan? Is it for health reasons? Moral? or just because you think its cool?

I am a Raw Vegan you could say. I eat only Fresh Raw Fruits and Veggies. No grains , rarely seeds or nuts. I am this way because #1 I dont want to have to see a doctor unless i break an arm, and I dont want to be sick or get cancer,

#2 becuase commercialially raised animals live horrible lives, unhealthy for them and us.

Most vegan I know are not even that healthy, like most americans they consume too much fat.  They spend so much time trying to find meat, or protein replacements, when all the protein and other vital nutes are all contained within raw organic fruits and veggies. Majority of my protein intake is from spinach!! Everything essential to your body is in what I speak of.

  5. I would say just make small changes so that's it's not so overwhelming.  It's just about impossible to change a lifetime of habits overnight. Try to condition your brain by affirming the things you believe in and it will get easier as you go along.

The fact that you desire to improve means you will.
