massive retractable leaves in pretty paterns, 5' metalic stem and large roots which have spread to an old carpet, kept damp by a roof leak. What shall I name it. Sorry I'm not very good at pictures.

  7. Yes, I know this plant, mine is on the patio, its named Parasolypicticus vulgaris, its a member of the Umbrellacii patiollii family. Plant in full sun, no watering or feed required. Quite a no problem plant really, doesnt like wind though.

  8. No idea. Retractable leaves? That sure is a rare plant.

Perhaps you could put it in a pot, then you have a 'pot' plant!
