Just bought a 50 pk

Question

Just bought a 50 pk memorex CD-r. My system says the device is not ready, on both G: and H: drives. Also have gotten message "CD with unrecognizable data", and remember this is a brand new disk. Didn't think that it needed to be formated, but tried that. Still stuck!!!!
