  1. Mine does this. Most portables only have a limited reception range. Even with the aerial fully extendedI have to try different parts of the house to get a decent reception.

  2. You don't give very much info., but if it's new, see if you can exchange it for another, if you have the same problem, get a refund.

  3. your acting as the aerial and ground, are the battery's ok?

low power battery's can cause this because the radio fails to pull in the signal.

or the set could be off frequency

or just a poor quality radio it's self.

do your best to  move the set about to get the best signal you can.

if it as a external aerial try putting a long wire on it to boost input

  4. try attaching an aerial wire - a thin wire - to extend the existing aerial run it around the nearest window frame and attach the radio to it. I realize it is no longer portable, but the window acts as a receiver for the radio waves for you!

You could leave the wire as a permanent fixture surrounding your window - outside - and tap into it as required with your radio by joining the 'tail' to the aerial when needed. Sounds odd, I know but it does work. I live in a poor reception area and have done this many times before.

  5. Sounds faulty. Get a refund.

  6. probably the area you are in that is why you are getting a bad reception you could try it in another area also try new batteries in it that might help may be cheap batteries

  7. Take it back to where you bought it

  8. sometime the antenna needs adjusting, you have electricity in your body for it to work well

  9. Buy a DAB radio instead
