Just bought a used yamaha gp760...runs great, but, fuel gauge always shows empty (with red warning light).....Is there a way to reset system, or is there another way??....thanks!

  1. I don't know if your motorcycle has a reserve petcock but a way to tell how much fuel it has is to do the tried and true method.  FIll up the gas tank full of gas and clear out the trip odometer.  Ride until the motor sputters. Turn the petcock from run mode to reserve mode and see how many miles are on the trip odometer.  As an example, you may be able to go 150 miles until you hit reserve. At each gas fill, reset the trip odometer.  After the first time, you will know how far you can go on a tank of gas.  Best of luck.


  2. more than likely it is a bad sending unit. you could pull the front storage bucket. follow the wires coming out the top of the tank to the plug and make sure its still connected.
