Just bought a vizio 47" lcd and got direct tv hdmi hooked up. closed capt. worked b4 direct tv now it doen't

the option for closed caption went away once i hooked up my tv with the hdmi option

  1. Other than switching back and trying component cables first get the direct tv remote and get into the menu and see if you have cc settings there.  It may override the TV.


  2. Closed captioning is not transmitted digitally through HDMI with any device.   I've seen this a few times--I  turned on the CC INSIDE the Directv menu for the customers.  The directv CC may not have as many size and font options---if any--depends on the box
