  1. Most boards come pre-tuned and waxed, ready to go right out of the plastic.

  2. Well, I was going to say wax it. but it looks like you already got that covered...other than that, have a blast.

  3. i just bought a new snowboard and my cousin told me to ask the store to detune and wax it, but they said its pre waxed and already detuned. so u dont have to do anything

  4. If its a brand new board I'd say leave it as is.

  5. Don't wax it!  The factory wax that a new snowboard has on it is the best wax job you could get.

  6. I'm guessing it is new so usually they are already sharpened and waxed, but if you got it used you probley should sharpen and wax it! good luck! have fun!

  7. Boards do come factory waxed although the wax does not tend to last as long as when you get it done at a shop. I would say that you should get it waxed again after 2-3 days of riding.

As for edges you may want to get them detuned a tiny bit at the tip and tail. This will help you initiate turns better and will keep you from catching an edge as easily.  You used to have to do this on older boards as the edges came razor sharp from tip to tail although on newer boards they may already com with some level of detune.
