Question:

Just bought this car?

I just bought a car from a used car lot, a lot of my friends got cars from this place and they never had problems. The car runs great and is flawless, I picked it up on Friday the 22 and yesterday, Saturday the 23, the CD stopped working, it wont give me the CD back and when I click the CD button, it wont even play the CD. Should the dealership do something about it, or am I stuck?

  1. Ouch.  Used car lots are basically as-is.  I've learned this the hard way.  If your dealer seemed like a good guy maybe you can talk to him.  If not, take it to a car stereo place to see if they can rescue your CD and fix your player.

  2. all used car sales are AS IS unless otherwise stated.  Unless you have a written warranty covering the CD player, you are out of gas.  Get a new stereo for $100 and have it installed.  The dealer has no obligation to do anything.

Now, if you ask them, they MIGHT do something just to be helpful.  But they are not required to.

  3. did you buy a warranty
