  1. Congrats on being Muslim :D

    God bless you!!

  2. asalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu

alhamdulillah and congratulations on ur entrance to islam!

mashaAllah, tabarakAllah that u want to wear the abaya, sis the best thing to do is buy ur own fabric and have it professionally made by a tailor coz most of the abayas from the islamic shops have poor fitting, they're either too long/short etc.

however there are some decent places where u can buy an abaya from, the best place to my knowledge being in whitechapel, london, the shop is called arabian nights and it is on the same side of the road as the mosque.

the shop does look a bit extravagant coz they specialise in fancy jilbabs/abayas but they also sell plain black/coloured abayas and the prices are reasonable, ranging from £25-£40 for a single abaya.

take care sis and may Allah always keep u on the haq (truth) - ameen

  3. congrats sister,

actually you have to wear Abaya or Jilbab, it's mentioned in the Qur'an:

"O Prophet! Tell thy wives and thy daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks close round them (when they go abroad). That will be better, so that they may be recognised and not annoyed. Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful. " 33:59

  4. It seems like you haven't read the Qu'ran yet. It also seems that you have joined Wahhabi-ism, the fundamentalist sect. NOT good, go see a psychiatrist.

I have worked in many Muslim countries, the Abaya is NOT a requirement of the religion.

I have seen halter tops and no tops. In Saudi, I have seen women with veils, well made up, looking at men, and you can see, because the veil is so thin.

I strongly suggest going to Saudi Arabia, or Afghanistan, I promise, you will not like it.

  5. i don't live in London sorry,but Mashallah u r a muslim now,congratulation

  6. Congratulations on finding the truth!

Have you looked online for abaya?

    See this link.

    http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksi...

I can see a few further down with a start price of only £4.99. Put down the maximum you're willing to pay. You could get yourself a great bargain!

  7. Why do you need to wear an abaya - the koran doesn't say you have to its just some tradition created by men. The wacky thing is that the Bible says you should cover your head.

  8. Congrats on becoming Muslim, you will realize women in Islam is given equal rights and the highest place for women is given to Fatima the daughter of the Prophet.

  9. Look online, who cares if its in Saudi, just order it online or try ebay.com, but what I really wanted to say is congrats on the reversion to Islam, u will not regret it, best decision of your life, even better then me deciding to vote Obama 08.

Try online stores, but be sure to shop around first and compare so u get the best deal, try http://www.al-farah.com/index.html, again, this is just one, look around for a good deal.

  10. Salm-u-alikum wa rahmat Allah

i am glad you have become a Muslim! :D although i dont know where you can find abayas in London, you should know this:

women in Islam are treated very well and you may be happeir than ever in this religion. i am glad you want to wear an Abaya but i feel ashamed of my self because i do not like to wear them :( God forgive me.

Inshallah you will be a great person!

EDIT: the dude under me: Yes, it doesnt say you have to wear an Abaya BUT some wish to do. Its entirely the person's choice not yours. She wants to wear an abaya and if she thinks that she is comfartable wearing one than congrats! let her do so. Its a good thing aswell. All the koran says is to cover yourself from men. She is doing that in her own way.

  13. How about ebay.com?
