Here a little nugget from wiki, for your education:

Palin is strongly pro-life and belongs to Feminists for Life.[12]

She opposes same-s*x marriage, but she has stated that she has g*y friends and is receptive to g*y and L*****n concerns about discrimination.[12] While the previous administration did not implement same-s*x benefits, Palin complied with a state Supreme Court order and signed them into law.[32] She supported a democratic advisory vote from the public on whether there should be a constitutional amendment on the matter.[33] Alaska was one of the first U.S. states to pass a constitutional ban on g*y marriage, in 1998, along with Hawaii.[34]

Palin's first veto was used to block legislation that would have barred the state from granting benefits to the partners of g*y state employees. In effect, her veto granted State of Alaska benefits to same-s*x couples. The veto occurred after Palin consulted with Alaska's attorney general on the constitutionality of the legislation.[35]

  1. While I respect John McCain for all his accomplishments in life, I don't think that he is a good candidate for President.  He is too closely aligned with Bush and his policies.  Also his age and health are negative factors as well.

He has chosen Palin, a woman, as his running mate in order to attract the many Hillary Clinton followers who are reluctant to switch to Barak Obama, who are mostly women.  While I personally appreciate many of Ms. Palin's policies concerning the LGBT community, I think we should be concerned with the whole picture and base our voting decisions on that.  Frankly I don't think she is up to the job.

  2. she's an a*****e - what do you expect? he's going to lose in 2008.

  3. it's a last ditch effort to get votes from all the angry hilary supporters who swore they'd never vote for obama.

  4. She is darling of the religious right just kind of person they worship.

  5. I'm not a L*****n or g*y but still... I think I'm gonna be sick! Let's just hope that this is the beginning of McCain digging himself a hole he can't get out of.

  6. McCain has slit his own throat.  She has no experience and talks like a Valley Girl.  Who's going to take her seriously.  It's absolutely laughable listening to these idiots trying to make her sound like a viable VP candidate.

  7. LOL OMG U GUYS, I CANNOT BE A HOMOPHOBE, I TOTES HAVE g*y FRIENDZ

  8. You know, I know someone who is a really bad homophobe and wanted to vote for Obama. But I showed him how Obama wants to grant homosexuals equal rights, and he instantly decided to vote for McCain.

But to say that doesn't matter, and to answer your question, I don't care because most likely Obama is getting in. If McCain get's in, we're screwed and many know it. I don't think this nation needs any more of what it has been going through the last 8 years.

  9. I am surprised.

Her only experience is being a city councilperson and mayor of a city with a population of less than 10,000 and being a governor since Dec. 2006.

It appears that McCain was not looking for a good candidate that happened to be a woman, but only a younger woman candidate.

A much better choice would have been either Olympia Snowe or Susan Collins, both Senators from Maine that have more centrists views.

  10. I think Palin's a b*tch! I can't stand her. McCain's probably thinking that he can persuade Hillary's voters over to him by picking her. Although same-s*x couples do have benefits now, I still think Sarah Palin's a b*tch...

And honestly, if McCain thinks this is going to make LGBT folks want to vote for him, he is sorely mistaken.

  11. heres what i think: "ugh is he trying to get the ladies of the us to vote for him?"

  12. I do not know that much about her yet, but it seems that this is McCain's attempt to gain some more votes, especially from women. She like himself also liken themselves to the Democrats, though their overall voting history shows otherwise. Her appointment should prove to add some more intrigue to this monumental election.

  13. I think McCain is running scared, as he should be.  He's trying to choose a running mate who will be at least somewhat attractive to the liberal community in a pathetic attempt to garner women's and LGBT votes.  Good luck with that, any people who actually use their heads to vote will see right through it...

  14. I haven't researched her yet but in any case I think it's good that, in the event McCain wins, it's good to have a difference in leadership e.g. woman / man, African American / Caucasian...whatever the case may be. When you have 2 people of the same calibur working together or running the country together, there are certain issues that, unfortunately, will not be addressed or deemed as important. A woman Vice President will be more likely to pay more attention to women issues. People have said she is against g*y marriage but anyone can change.  An African American President will be more attentive to the needs of minorities etc. This is not necessarily a bad thing when you have a good combination of candidates. Lets get it all out on the table and get people talking. Times are changing and so the people need to start changing!

I also lean towards the fact that he picked her to try to win over Hilary Clinton's followers but that's just my opinion.

  15. He's just doing it to get womens and LGBT votes

    although it won't work

  16. At least she has executive experience. Come to think of it, she's the only one in the bunch with executive experience. City council, Mayor, Gov. of a state. But I don't know what McCain was thinking. Very untraditional.
