  1. vital shok is the best by far. get the heaviest you can. this is my advice from what i know, bring enough gun.

  2. All fine choices, especially the Fusion and Vital Shock.

Choose heavy bullet weights for close work and lighter, faster weights for down-range work.

Check out this option as well:

  3. Good loads for most North American big game smaller than elk.  For elk, prefer a 220 grain load for better knockdown. Not much else to say.

  4. All three rounds are top-of-the-line.  The Silvertip delivers the most fps of energy at the muzzle.  I'll be using the Silvertip myself this deer season but in a .25-06 w/115 grain bullets.  Now you're looking at three very different bullet weights:  180 in Silvertip; 150 in Federal Vital-Shok; and 165 in Fusion.  What are you hunting?  The 150 grainer is a good weight selection for White tail to say Mule deer size game.  The 165 grainer say Mulies through Elk and the 180 grainers say Elk and Moose.  I'd say you have your ammo selection down pad, just match it to the game you're hunting.

    Happy hunting.

  5. All rock on choices and ansewrs so far. The bigger the game though the bigger the bullet needed to be truely effective. Though the Vital shcok is about the best d**n ammo made try Kynoch ammuntion if you have an exotic caliber rifle as they amke the best. Otherwise stick with the Vital shocks
