Anthropology is also about the evolution of man and the basis of biological anthropology is evolution. One must accept biological and chemical theory in anthropology as its scientific basis.

  1. it is human nature to be curious. I beleive that everyone who denies anything without hard proof doesnt deny it at all. They are just following the crowd or better yet trying to lead the crowd until  a better answer which makes them feel more comfortable comes along. As for me, I dont believe in evolution I believe in adaptation. Similiar yet very distant cousins wouldnt you say?

  2. Because both are a study for the true time frame of life on our planet, not the interpretation based on skewed theories.

Did you know that there has been fossilized footprints of Dinosaurs found walking at the same time as human footprints...where are those in the text books.  The problem is many archaeologists and anthropologists have a biased when looking at their findings.

Those who deny evolution should pursue these fields and help balance the interpretations we have been getting from these fields of study.

  4. Archaeology and social anthropology study ruins of ancient societies and their culture etc.  Opponents of evolution don't deny that people and cultures have existed in the past...they just don't believe that they developed from monkeys.

  5. I don't see the relationship. Even if you deny the fact of evolution, you could still study either one since they have nothing to do with evolution.

Oh, vote for Elizabeth above me, she is more to the point than I am.

  6. It mystifies me why some archaeologists don't accept evolution.  It's not so much because evolution is required to explain human culture (unless you're studying pre-human hominids), but because some of the techniques we use require accepting that the Earth is old.  Archaeologists use geology and carbon-14 dating to determine the age of sites.  Geology and c-14 dating also give more evidence that evolution exists, through showing how old the Earth is, for instance.   If you're going to use those things to help you out, you gotta accept whatever they tell you.  You can't pick and choose.
