I am not pregnant but do want kids and like any other woman, I think about names. I am afraid I am missing out on names I will never hear of but this is what I have so far...

Girls:

Maren

Josephine (Josie, my grandma's name is Josephine)

Julia

Kirsten (not KRisten)

Merideth

Eleanor (old I know, BF's grandmas name...call her Ellie)

Quinn (Irish)

Boys:

Colby

Joel

Rory

Sullivan (Sully)

Solomon

Josiah

Who knows..ultimately I guess it needs to be a joint decision. Im pretty caught up on Maren though...

  1. I love love the names Maren, Kirsten, Quinn, and for the boys I like Colby the best. Eleanor is cute to and especially with the nickname Ellie.

  2. I like Maren it's different.

I love the name Josephine and the shortened version Josie (You just don't hear that name enough this days) same with Eleanor.

And Quinn is a really cool name, I love it.

For the boy names I only like Colby, Joel and Rory.  The other three are a little too Bibley and different in a not so fun way.

  3. i love colby, and Maren is pretty

  4. You've got some fantastic girls names! I think Maren is really cute, and so far not that common. I also like Kirsten. My favorite, though, would be Merideth. Quinn is also one of my favorites.

    For the boys:

Colby reminds me of the basketball player with a bad rep.

Joel reminds me of a g*y man, and I'm not bashing, but almost every Joel I know or have known was g*y.

Rory is awesome and very Irish.

Sullivan doesn't make me think of a little boy, not even with the nickname. It makes me think of a man with hair growing out of his ears.

    Solomon...same thing as Sullivan.

Josiah could be cute, but I'm not too terribly fond of it.

Good luck, though! I wish you the best.

  5. Nice names!!

    I REALLY like:

    Colby

Sullivan (not sure if I'm fond of Sully)

    Rory

    Maren

    Quinn

    Josie

or Eleanor or Josephine for middle names.

    = )

  6. I love Julia and Eleanor.  Another nickname for Eleanor could be Nora - a name I totally love.  They're gorgeous - very pretty names.

I also like Violet and Juliet.

I like Rory for a boy.  It's one of my favourites.  Love Irish names.  It's sort of popular as a nickname for the girls' name Aurora.  Other than that, though, it's perfect.  Sullivan sounds nice too.

I also like Ryan, Connor, Donovan and Charlie.

  7. I don't maren too close to marrion i think, JOsephine is nice, like julia, like kirsten, meredith and elanor are old lady but if they have sentimental value they are nice...quinn is nice but i have only known guys with that name... i don't like colby, joel is cute, rory is nice, i like sully solomon and josiah are really nice...

  8. kirsten

  9. Maren is pretty. i also like Julia, Kirsten and Eleanor.

for the boys, i like Colby, Rory and Josiah.

  10. I met a Maren recently, and it was really confusing. I think the only way to illustrate it is by re-creating the conversation.

SCENE: A house party in northern New Jersey. Joy Division plays loudly in the background. Hipsters languidly lounge on couches, ironically commenting on each others choice of clothing and hairstyle. The dining room table has been covered in trash bags, and beer pong is being played. The kitchen counter serves as a makeshift bar, featuring cheap gin and coconut rum.  A nervous dauxhound weaves between ankles, yipping as he narrowly avoids being stepped on. Four people are crammed into the space between the kitchen and the beer pong arena, waiting for their turn to compete.

SEEMINGLY WELL INTENTIONED GUY: So, what are your names again?

    JANE: Jane.

    KATIE: Katie.

WELL INTENTIONED GUY: And how do you know Melissa?

JANE: The host? Her boyfriend Dan is good friends with our friend Sam. We go to school with Sam in Chicago.

KATIE: And what were your names?

    WELL INTENTIONED GUY: (indistinguishable mumble)

    MAREN: Maren.

    KATIE: What??

    MAREN: Maren!

JANE: Um, I think I still can't hear you. What was it?

    MAREN: MAREN!!

    KATIE: Lauren?

    MAREN: No, MAREN.

JANE: How do you spell that?

    MAREN: M-A-R-E-N.

    KATIE: Ohhh, Maah-ren.

    MAREN: Close enough.

WELL INTENTIONED GUY: She gets this all the time. Poor Maren.

JANE: Wait, is it More-en or Mah-ren?

VICTORIOUS BEER PONG PLAYER: h**l YEAH. SIX FOR SIX BABY, SIX FOR SIX!

KATIE: Oh, that's us Jane! Talk to you later then, um, friends!

JANE: (whispering to Katie) How do you say her name?

    END SCENE.

So, Maren can be a confusing name. It is pretty though.

I love Quinn too. And Joel and Rory.
