  1. If the bird is fully feathered, it is most likely a fledgling and has left the nest on it's own and it's parents are caring for it. It is normal for birds to leave the nest before they can fly. You need to replace it where you found it..preferably in a scrub or tree so it is relatively safe from predators, and the parents should come back to feed it. If it is unfeathered...then look for a nest and if you can find it...replace it into the nest. Do not worry about your scent being on the chick..birds have a very poorly developed sense of smell and will NOT reject a baby that has been touched. If you cannot find a nest, get the bird to a local wildlife rehab for it's best chance of survival. Also, keep in mind, it is illegal for you to try and raise this bird on your own. Look for a rehab here:

  2. Where I live, it's illegal to own wild birds.

And when I say own, I mean even take care of him.

But who cares, PA is overrated anyway.

You've done a lot already, but maybe go a fishing store and buy some worms.

Edit- John's answer above me is so incorrect.

Birds have a very bad sense of smell and even if they cared about whether a human touched it, they would've be able to tell.

  3. Call your local humane society and they will tell you what to do with it.

  4. keep it as a pet if their are no sign of parents

  5. You can get meal worms at a pet store. If the baby is too young, you need to blend the worms with a little cooked oatmeal and use an eyedropper. Do this every hour or so. If the baby is old enough to eat worms, use a tweezer and hold the meal worm for it. If you can't get to a pet store and get meal worms, you can feed the baby a blend of cooked oatmeal (cool it off) and dog food, as long as it can go into a dropper. If you're desperate, just liquify any grain cereal by cooking, or soaking in milk, even bread soaked in bread and then mushed up, then feed with eyedropper.

  6. That is really nice of you to do.  I would go to the nearest pet shop and find out what to feed him and also give him something that he can drink water from. :)

  7. Take it to a vet.
