She has given birth in the 'toilet area' of her cage which is very dark (I don't tend to go in there unless to clean her and was very surprised to see that my male rabbit had some how had fun with her without me knowing!) Anyway I have 5 little rabbits in a nest that she has made with her straw, all huddles together with fur on. Where do I go from here!? I really want to clean part of her cage out as its been about a week now and it is starting to smell and I don't want flies being attracted to her but don't want to upset her!!? Please help! Should I provide a nest box for her? x

  2. Well. If shes made a nest, and pulled fur and they're nice and warm, I wouldnt think you would need to put a box in there. You really should not disturb the nest, because this may cause the mom to abandon the babies. As far as eating them are concerned. Dont listen to the person who said that. If she were to eat them, she would have already done so. They RARELY eat babies after a few hours after birth. I would think that if theyre staying warm and covered up, let them go and let momma do her thing! In the future though, be careful and make sure they stay separated, otherwise this will happen again, and the female will go into heat within 24-48 hours after birth, so be careful.

  3. They will be fine. Mother knows what to best. we went through this 4 times do not worry , they grow so fast

you have no idea. she could have more in 4 weeks.the liitle ones are so much fun even our boxer dog liked them.In the end we had 21 of them . Enough is enough . JUst enjoy

  4. IS It Cold Outside??

IF its all Nice and Warm itz alrite

But look at them at every day.

Sometimes the mother eats her babies

    Hope This Helps!!!
