  1. DO NOT KEEP IT LOADED FOR PETE'S SAKE!!!

  2. We have a revolver in my house and we keep three chambers loaded, and one of the two unloaded chambers is the one that's ready to be shot. I hope that makes sense. I'm not up to date on my gun terminology.

And what is the guy in front of me talking about? Moving isn't the easiest thing to do ever. Guns are a good way to make yourself feel secure whether there is a need to be worried or not. As long as you are cautious with it around others, and make sure to teach young children gun safety rules.

  3. The safety on a S&W revolver is the fact that the gun will not fire unless the trigger is pulled.  If you don't intend to fire the weapon, then don't pull the trigger and nothing will happen!

The only thing an unloaded gun is useful for is as a paper weight.  If you bought the gun for home protection, and you have to fumble around in the dark trying to find the bullets and load it in the middle of the night, while someone is threatening your life or property it's worthless!

By all means, keep your guns in a safe place, away from children, but if they're not loaded then they are worth nothing at all.  Oh, also...  the best possible weapon for home protection is a 12 gauge shotgun, not a .38 revolver.

  4. Never keep a loaded gun lying around.

You are just asking for trouble.

As another answer stated - purchase a safety.

  5. Itd be safest not to keep it loaded....but keep the ammo nearby

  6. All of mine are loaded at all times. An unloaded firearm is better used as a paper weight. Keeping a revolver loaded doesn't hurt the gun any.

  7. seeing how this is in car safety...........i would keep it loaded at all times, never know when a car jacker is coming

  8. Come on, keep in unloaded for your safety and the safety of others.

  9. GG,

Revolvers don't have a safety. Actually, most pistols don't have a rifle or shotgun type safety if that is what you're looking for. The double-action mechanism acts sort of as a safety.

If you have children, definitely keep it unloaded, and store any ammo away from the gun.

  10. NO,

NO DO NOT KEEP IT LOADED.

You should take classes of JUI JITSU , good for stress, for confidence and defense if need be.

Take it back to the shop please.

Move to another town if you so scared and insecure.

    Please.

  11. GG revolvers don't have safeties the double action trigger is your safety the revolver will not fire until you squeeze the trigger completely. If you have children around make sure they do not have access to the weapon and ammunition. Please take a handgun safety class as soon as possible and get some range time to become accustomed to your weapon.

I keep mine loaded and on my person everyday and know it will not fire until I squeeze the trigger. Enjoy your handgun get some training and be safe.

    1. All handguns are loaded until you unload them.

    2. Never point your handgun at anything you don't want to

    destroy.

    3. Keep your finger off of the trigger and out of the trigger guard until you are pointing at your target.

    4. Be sure of your target and what is behind it.
