Just got a finger piercing and i think it might be infected pls help?

I just got a finger piercing like almost 2 weeks ago, and now it is like red and swollen there is no pus and it does not hurt unless i put pressure on it is it infected or just swollen??

What should i do 2 make it go down??

Ive had mine for roughly three weeks and has only just gotten swollen now. Often finger piercings get swollen within the first few weeks, simply because they get knocked and bumped and caught a lot when your just doing daily things. Obviously its not so much of a problem once they've healed, but during the healing process, you can understand why it could affect it. Finger piercings can take up to a few months to heal because of this. Also, if you think about it, you do just about everything with your hands, and everything has some sort of bacteria on it. So there could be certain things that are midly irritating it, such as foods your touching, or even just touches different surfaces like tables and items that many other people have been touching. However these are only minor issues and wont be too much of a problem if you continue to clean it with some sort of gentle anti-bacterial/antiseptic wash or cream. However, i simply use hot, salty water to clean mine, and only sometimes, diluted anti-septic liquid. Also, if you continue to rub ice on it, it will help reduce the swelling. So if you continue to clean it, and try to be careful not to bump it or catch it on anything, it will heal fine :)
