My artist told not to use any lotion with petrolium jelly in it since it can cause moisture build up. So i bought Eucerin brand Intensive repair lotion. Is there any brand that any one can suggest that works really well for a new tattoo? I was told to use A & D ointment only for the first 24 hrs.

  1. aquaphor

  2. Bacitracin is good. A & D is good all the way through. Lubriderm is good. No  Neosporin or petroleum products. No multi antibiotic ointments. Any unscented hand lotion usually is fine. I know a lot of folks who prefer nothing at all. Go figure.

  3. i use polysporin cream. i have 9 tattoos. a cream based lotion is best. anything greasy will make the colour bleed from the tattoo. a&d ointment will do that, too.

polysporin cream 3 times a day for the first 3 days.

anything unscented, i use lubriderm, 3 times a day for the following 3 weeks.

  4. I always use curel fragrence free for the WHOLE healing process. A & D ointment has absolutley no healing value for your tattoo unless an infection is present. Also, some people get reactions from using A & D, it causes little red spots and the color is lost in those areas.
