Kay, here's a little back ground. My BF's brother had an indoor/outdoor cat that was hit by a car and had to have his hip joint removed. Well, his brother never really liked the cat to begin with (he would randomly hiss and attack the kids), so he offered us the cat, because he gets along with my 7mo. old kitten. I said sure but wanted to wait until he was fully recovered from his surgery to bring him home because my kitten gets jealous and plays really rough and I didn't want the 1yr. to get injured further. Well, my BF being a man didn't listen to me and brought the cat home last Thursday. Just a little while ago I noticed the one yr. old had missed the cat pan and pooped on the floor it was runny and there was blood. My sister said this could be a sign of worms or something more serious. I'm going to take him to the vet a.s.a.p. so that's not a question.

However, my question is, should I go a head and take both cats in case it IS worms and get them both treated and tested, OR should I take the 1yr old and wait to see what the vet says?

Any and all suggestions are welcome thank you in advance for your help.

  1. you built your cat a chair!? amazing!

  2. In my experience, if you have one cat with worms the vet will give you enough medication for all of your cats to be treated.

  3. i think you should take them both

but get the 1yr. checked first.

That way if it is worms then u can get the 7mo. checked aswell

    :)

i have 2 cats myself XD

  4. Didn't this kitty just have surgery?  Where is the aftercare sheet, these usually have complications that you should look out for.  Less than a week is pretty short a period of time for a lot to develop it is possible there is something else going on.  Ask the BF what the vet told him is really wrong with kitty.  You may have inherited a very sick kitty

  5. bring both your cats, that way if it is worms you will be able to get them both checked out at the same time, and if it isn't maybe the reason has to do with the other cat and bring both might help the cat

  6. just take the 1yr old cat in and see what the vet says...if the kitten should be brought in too..the vet will tell u so!

  7. there is no need to bring the other cat in because it isn't showing signs. i would tell the vet that u have another kitten at home and if it is worms, they will give u the proper meds... but with this cats history i dont think its worms. if it was worms, you would see it... theres no mistaken it. so just give the vet the info you know and good luck

  8. if it was worms you would see them in the poo, but round worms are in the stomach and they can kill the cat, and also parvo, blood in a sign of it... if the cat has got its shots then it should not have it, but there is always a chance. good luck ... i would take both cats and get both treated in one trip... wish you the best. i would take the cats ASAP...

  9. All correct answers to your question is at the local vets, go there and take ALL of them at the same time, that way you will know if anything else is wrong with any of them.

  10. trust the vet, always trust the vet
