I got air without even doing an ollie. It was barely any air, but was my first time. LOL, I went off the corner of one of the rail ramps.

  1. U2S2PID has the right idea, but before you get to that jump get as much speed as you can, this will aid in your jump.

  2. Basically like jumping, you crouch down then before you leave the lip you jump up puttin more pressure on your back foot (on most jumps) which loads your tail and can give you extra pop if needed with the right board.

  3. A lift off of a flat surface (like a rail or box) is the easiest - just keep your knees bent and pop straight up.

An actual jump / kicker is usually a little different because the angle of it will change your direction at the last moment. The most common mistake is to hit a jump with a lip at the top which will throw you back and you will land on the tail of your board - or worse - on your back. Make sure to be forward on your board when there is a lip at the top of the jump you are hitting.

    Good Luck

  4. k, so i'd definetly try out popping first, which is basically like jumping, but with your board. Try to get some practice doing this while your just riding, and be super stable before going off bigger jumps. After getting down the pop try for the ollie, just put pressure on your back foot, use the board to get in the air, and land with a flat base. After you got that, the important part is to land. To land, its best to learn by stomping, and its exactly how it sounds. This helps your knee's absorb the landing, and it also helps your balance. Good luck! I love getting air and i just took a class and learned what i just said, have fun.

  5. its kinda like sk8ing, you put weight on back foot and use the pop in tail or nose of board. you want to do this as your about leave the kicker. when air born add some flair, do a spin or some kinda cool grab or both.

  6. When you are first trying to get air I suggest that you "pop" evenly off both feet.  This will give you a more balanced takeoff so you have a better chance of landing.   As you approach the jump bend deep at the knees with a straight back.  Pop up evenly at the top of the jump.  Pull your knees up to get more air.  Spot your landing and extend you legs to meet the landing - then absorb again with the knees.  It is easier to show than explain.  Good luck!

An ollie is a bit more difficult to execute than a pop.

  7. If you try poping or ollieing your going to dump it, especially when 1st learning jumps. You want to start by just going faster

If your hitting a jump with a transition, ( landing)  Just keep hitting it faster and faster. Its much easier to learn  if at 1st you just let the jump throw you, this is how you get super comfortable with the way the jump will throw you. Alot of park jumps these days you don't even need to Ollie off, if you bomb at em, you will clear it, the lip will do the work for you.

    Good luck
