Just got braces and getting sore teeth if they bump together?

Hi I just got braces put on my front top teeth yesterday and im not chewing my food with my front teeth but when I chew my top teeth hit the bottom teeth and it really hurts. Why? Will this happen all the time now?

Hey got mine on in May, that pain only lasts for about a week and a half. Stick to Ramen Soup, easy to chew with the pain, thats what i ate. Good luck

The braces are moving your teeth which makes the gums sore. It doesn't last very long. 4 or 5 days. I used to eat stuff I could swallow whole like ice cream after I visited the orthodontist.
