Just got comcast digital cable?

i recently got digital cable service from comcast. i have a 46 inch sony bravia. it seems the picture is not as crisp as my folk's place. they have comcast as well, but its analog. (no set top box) is this normal? I heard its because not all the channels are digital for cable.

It has become obvious to all us HD tv owners that a digital signal will not look as good on a HD set because the up converting that goes on inside the tv as it tries to broadcast it as a HD picture.  Hopefully this will change.  (I hate watching digital sports broadcasts.)
