Just got dental veneers, should I avoid wearing my retainer?

should I avoid wearing my retainer for a couple days to let the veneers set more? The retainer are pretty tight when i put them in my mouth and i want to avoid pressure on my teeth.

You should get a new retainer to fit your veneers. Your old retainer is meant to fit the way your teeth were before the veneers.  It will not fit properly now and could damage the veneers so I recommend not wearing it.
