  1. as a routine instruction, i advice my patients to use the dentures in all activities except eating for the first week, then whats called enture settlment starts, meaning dentures are adapted to the gums, it takes up to 3-4 weeks but 1 week is sufficient to patients to use it in eating, some patients take less than this, this is assuming ur dentures are well fabricated, with no over extensions and well retained and stable

  2. IT TAKES EXPERIMENTATION AND PRACTICE. START WITH SOFTER FOODS AND STAY AWAY FROM THE HARD CRUNCHY TYPE UNTIL LATER. REMEMBER WITH DENTURES LET YOUR TONGUE MOVE THE FOOD TO BOTH SIDES EVENLY BEFORE YOU BITE DOWN.

  3. Did you have your teeth extracted and both dentures placed the same day ??  If so, about 3-4 weeks. If you just got one plate, it either be the top or bottom, about 1-2 weeks.

  4. You should be able to eat good right away,i could,as long as the dentures were fitted o.k. by a good dentist.  If you have any problems with them, try using a dental fixative, which you can buy at a chemist.  That will give them a cushion on you gums, and should be more comfortable.  Hope that helps,...Trevor

  5. it may take about a week or so, because when people get braces, they usually take about 3-5 days to get used to them.
