  1. a  teacher MUST use a rubric to grade a piecce of work  be it a test/ quiz or project.  did u have that clarity and guidelines in written form given to  you? if not then you can protest.

the elements of the rubric have to be in your project for you to attain the grades.

it is not a personal thing- true assessment  happens from standards based testing.

of course we care if you fail-

we could not inspire you enough to study/ master/ remember  the material to a level of competency.

the kids i've built my best relationships are the kids who are at the bottom and really work hard- they are th kids i spend the most time with.

  2. my teacher thought it was funny when i failed all my history tests i resat them about a million times and still failed. lol

  3. A teacher by virtue of his or her position and experience and training knows more about the subject than a pupil. If you can not take the advice of a teacher then you have a real serious problem. I doubt if your teacher really would take your personality into account. If it goes wrong it is no reflection on the teacher as you failed to take advice.

Your question is so grammatically incorrect ,that I would really be worried if I were you, and take some advice on how to write a grammatically correct question.

  4. Your at college right?

Surely your project work gets quality assessed which normally means a random selection of projects are taken then marked by anther teacher. This should ensure that marking is fair and consistent. If any discrepancies in marks occur then it is flagged and all remarked (An ideal world i know).

Do teachers want you to fail?

This borders two categories good teachers and bad teachers. Good teachers put personal stuff aside and do the best they can for their students and want them to succeed. Bad teachers don't care let issues get in the way.

Another point is if students don't put the work in they don't care because at the end of the their careers are not on the line as they have a set standard to mark to and can't degrade standards just to let every tom d**k and harry pass (not saying you don't put the effort in just explaining a reason why they might not care).

If you fail the baring it may have on the teacher?

If you do fail and there is a high failure rate in the class the teacher may be called into explain the actions by the head of department. Where the teacher will offer reasons like:

a less talented or academically good year for students

the quality of effort and work was not up to it

may even display work to the head

If the teacher is found to have messed up work can be regraded and disciplinary action may  proceed.

Overall you failing affects you more as its your career on the line, the teachers career may be in jepody after several poor years of performance.

A little point just because you don't agree with something does not mean you shouldnt do it. In the world of work you may not like something but your boss wants you to do it but you have to do it.......this type of project prepares you for the real world.

    Hope this answers everything

  5. I did not get into education to fail kids.  I have never had a student fail me who put in an honest effort.  It is usually due to absences, not doing required work and simply not caring.

At the small school that I am at, I am the only teacher that teaches this particular required course.  If I do not like a certain student (guilty) then I do EVERYTHING I can to see that this young person passes.  If they fail, I have to have them in class again.

I am a teacher to try to help young people.  Failing them is not pleasant, but as my mentor teacher used to say, "The teacher does not fail students.  Students fail themselves!"

  6. no not rally, my teacher didnt give a Sh**t wen i did something else lol

they say they do but they dont.

actually dependes on how cool you are with ur teacher. my maths teacher would die for me lol

but teachers do know wat is gd for you? maybe you should listen.

    lol

  7. Most teachers do care if you fail.  I don't get the "I didn't agree with what they wanted me to put in a project" thing.  The project is specifically FOR the teacher, so why would your preferences matter at all?  Unless the teacher was asking you to do something immoral or unethical (the one time I refused a teacher was when he wanted me to go into the library with a razor blade and cut pictures out of a book!), it is what they want that counts.

Most teachers don't get into any trouble if a student fails, but from a personal perspective, since it is our job to help you learn, we do take it personally if you fail to do so.

  8. Yes of course - they have to meet certain quotas of pass-rates and it certainly reflects badly on them if their pupils fail.

  9. f you go to Haberdashers' you need to sort out your spelling, lol! Used to be the Frifely Posh skool when I were a lass.

  10. good

  11. do you do that over the shoulder sultry thing with them like you do with us? if so I bet they do care....
