I got hired by target to work at the starbucks in the store on thursday, i took the pee test on friday, they said once they got the results in(im 10000% sure theyll be fine) and the background check(also 10000% sure) in, theyd call me and schedule the orienation, how long do you think this will take? (im writing this sunday night)

a few more questions...

what should i expect during my orientation?

They told be to wear khaki panta and a black shirt for the orienation, would some dark khaki cargo pants and a black tshirt be okay?

how long will it take for me to get the hang of it (people do say im a fast learner but the drinks just seem so complicated, plus ive never been to a starbucks)

Ive heard that normal starbucks let the employees have 2-3 free drinks a day but do they do that for target owned starbucks as well?

what type of people normally work at starbucks? like what should i expect my coworkers to be like?

is it a fun job?

i supppose i could just ask a few of those questions once they call to schedule my orienation, but im getting antsy lol, ive been looking for a job for a while and they hired me practicly on the spot... so im excited but also a little bit nervous...

  1. Congrats you sound excited. I had a friend who worked for Starbucks and she was given money to help with school and had a great benefit plan -she worked there for 4 yrs. She enjoyed  it. She was very exacting and detail  oriented. Good Luck!

Now she works for Pfizer and she is doing very well.

  2. A few answers-

    1. Orientation will be something like five hours, you have to watch movies and talk about things related to Target's business plan and things like that.

    2. Those clothes should be fine as long as the t-shirt is plain, no writing on it at all.

    3. A couple of weeks, but they won't leave you alone for a while and they should have charts that tell you how to make each drink.

    4. I don't know about the free drinks, but I know that the Starbucks inside Target don't allow the employees to accept tips like they can at a free standing Starbucks.

    5. I can't really answer that-they do tend to be young, but I don't really know what you mean by this question

    6. Not really, but you will make a paycheck.

Oh, and as far as how long it will take, you should probably hear something by the end of the week.

  3. Target Starbucks are just license stores. meaning, Target buys Starbucks products. They don't get the same benefits as a normal Starbucks. So I don't know if you will get free drinks. I can tell you that its a fun and easy job. Its very easy to learn the drinks. It should take you a week or two. I can't answer your other questions because Starbucks and Target are two completely different company's. Good luck though.
