  1. hey im 13 too WELL im gonna be 14 august 30th. and im using pads. Im afraid to use tampons. even tho i really want to try them. LOL i had my period the 2nd time and then i finally told my mom. when i did, it was a weight off my shoulder. It was such a releif. and then we talked about it for a while.. then she's like "lets go to the store" she was so happy she bought me a ton of stuff. i think u should start off using pads for a while. and then when u feel comfortable enough to try tampons, then try them.. i think i am pretty soon. im sick of pads. It feels like your waring a wet dyper. ya not pretty. and you get all crabby and u get bloaded. but ur b***s get bigger LOL :P

ya and dont be afraid to tell your mom about it. She'll probably be happy for you. my mom was. she got all exited and said congratulations.. lol k well i hope i helped :)

    bye

  2. Hah, hun it's not that bad.

I'm 14 and I got mine like last summer. I started off with pads but after like the fifth period I switched to tampons. I don't get why girls think they are 'scary'. i think it is odd...Anyways just tell your mom flat out when she's alone. Easy. My mom was all happy...Go figure. But I was nervous over nothing.

You may get back aches, cramps, bloading what ever. Midol should help.

Thankfully I only get mild back aches.

    Well good luck :]]

  3. lol

luvky! I got mine at 12!!

    Anyways

I started out right away with tamponds

( it's best to get used to them soon)

    But if you are uncomfertable

    with somthing "sticking up there"

    try a pad :)

The best way is just flat out say

" Mom, I got my period"

Because she's gonna be able to help you much more then we can!!

    Good Luck:)

btw, congrats! your a woman now! lol :)

  4. Buy pads first{ Always with Wings are da best!} And then you can try tampons{recommend Tampax Pearl} later when you feel more comfortable about it.

You should just tell your mom straight out! "Mom, I started my period." works just fine! Besides she can help you!

  5. tell your mom, trust me, i waited 2 months before telling my mom and i regretted it because she seemed disapointed that i didnt tell her sooner and ive read the same stories elsewhere

i would recommend  pads first and then moving on to tampons, also if you want to try tampons without getting a whole box, look for free samples online especially from O.B. Tampons which give you an unmarked envelope of this cute little box of 3 regular tampons to put in your backpack, also im sure tampax, kotex, or always has free samples too

    hope that helps\

    !

  6. i kno how u feel. i would start out using pads and when u feel comfortable u can try tampons. and to tell ur mom ethier do it alone or u could text her or something like tht

    gool luck =]

  7. tampons and just tell her when shes alone

  8. well i know where u are coming from i started my period 3 months b4 finally telling my mom...but its best if you tell her sooner so she can buy the equipment  for your period...well i think pads would be the best!

  9. ya its not all that fun.......

if i were you i would get both tampons and pads.

pads at night and tampons for the day, but you should wear a pad or liner with a tampon to keep anything from leaking! good luck! :)

  10. get some of both, to see which you prefer.

and well, just tell her. just go up to her and say i just started my period, it's pretty simple...

  11. you can buy whatever you're comfortable with.  if you're fine with sticking a tampon up your v****a, then buy tampons.  but since it's your first, i think you should buy pads.  just tell your mom very casually.  when i got mine i was just like  'mom i got my period'  haha it wasn't really a big deal.  but good luck and i hope i helped (:!

  12. Don't worry hun, 13 is the perfect age to start your period. Tell your mom as soon as possible, it is definitely something she must know. I had the mistake of telling my mom a few weeks later - but she was more than understanding. All girls go through this, there's nothing to hide! Tell her when she's alone, there's nothing to be scared about. She's your mom after all that's what she's there for. As for tampons or pads, let your mom also help you out with this. Personally I thought using pads for the first few periods was better then I was introduced to tampons. You need to be responsible to use tampons, though, because you can't leave them in as long as you may like. Good luck girly :)

  13. hey i got my period exactly a month and 1 day ago... freaky I'm counting- it's annoying.

well i just went to my mom and was like ' mom. don't get all excited but i got my period.' she remained calm and now I'm totally not embarrassed at all. but before i was like- i really don't want to tell her!! but it's better if you do... saves you from going to the shops and getting some when you crush walks past =S ahah

i would you pads first and then once you get the hang of your period than use tampons. inbetween your periods i would ask your mom to get you liners... just in case and for the discharge.

just think- EVERY single woman gets it... it's nothing to be ashamed about! think of the positives- swim practice ( sorry i can't got my period =]) stay home from school because your cramps "hurt" so much! And you have a reason to be cranky- you can't help it... ohwell =]

Does one of your friends have their period yet.. if you don't want to tell your mom JUST yet, then maybe borrow some pads off her, and ask her about it...

just don't panic- we all go through it =]

    hope it all goes well,

    xx

  14. tampons

and just say, mom i got my period

    HAHA! simple.

  15. Just walk right up to her and say "mom, I think I just got my period". That's what mom's are for. Go to the store with her and you guys decide together what is best. I used tampons right away from the sixth grade and I also used pads with them cause it was heavy in the first few years. But talk to your mom. Believe me, it's a special time and you don't want to cut her out of it. She'll be a big help, trust me.
