Just had a Marie Currie charity collector round?

Question

how much money goes to this charity and how do you know they are not fake , I give 20 % of my earnings to NSPCC and feel that I can trust them but people who knock on doors, I am not too sure about?

Marie curie is a real charity, but I'm against them knocking on doors, or ringing the house, that's any charity, or ppl selling stuff. If you want to buy, or give to charity you know where to find them!

Anyone who collects for charity door to door has to have an identity card with permission from the charity to do so. Ask to check the card next time someone comes around. The boxes are usually sealed and handed in to be cashed up. As far as I'm aware all the money goes to the charity, but I have no idea how much is spent on individual patients compared to the administration costs of the charity. I do know that Marie Curie nurses are indispensible to many people suffering from Cancer.
