It was a natural miscarriage and was complete (checked today) but still bleeding a little.

I was wondering if I could go about my normal daily activities? Laundry, going to school, work. . cleaning. . ?? And I'm craving sweets and ice cream, is it okay for me to eat those? A lot of my friends told me to treat my body as if I just went through labor. . for me to take it easy for a week or two and to only eat warm, healthy food?

Is that true?

Thanks.

  1. Its completly ok to eat anything you want but i suggest to take a few days off work to make sure your stable this is a very hard process to go through

  2. I am sorry for your loss. I wouldn't recommend doing a lot of physical activity just yet, it can cause you to bleed more. In that sense you should treat your body like you went through labor. However, there is no problem in having a little ice cream if that is what you are craving, just don't over indulge.

  3. I'm sorry to hear that happened to you.

You should be able to start doing some normal things, just don't overdo it. You do need to take it easy but there's no need to give up all your normal activities. You might find that you get tired more easily so be prepared and listen to your body. I was a bridesmaid a few days after my nastiest miscarriage and was OK, but only did the absolute minimum I had to.

Go ahead and eat some of the things you're craving, they won't do any harm. I don't know why you would only eat warm food. When I had my son the hospital served up quite a few cold salads, and had an impressive desserts trolley! Just make sure that *most* of what you eat is healthy and that it includes some red meat (or other sources of iron) to make up for the blood you would have lost. Make sure you get some vitamin C in your diet as well, because it helps you absorb the iron.

  4. I miscarried 7 weeks ago and I was 7 weeks pregnant. My doctor just said to rest and take it easy but that is for your emotional well being. I bled for 6 days . 2 days heavy and then 4 days light. The doctor said we could keep trying to have a baby if we wanted but much to his surprise we found out we were pregnant again exactly 4 weeks to the day after =) I am sorry for your loss I know how it is. But do what you feel, don't overdo it but each person heals at their own pace. I ate everything I wanted and had never heard to eat only warm healthy food. I never heard this after giving birth to my son either! I will be praying for you! But eat what you wish! They gave me cold food in the hospital after having my son so treat yourself to your cravings! I went to work the day I was miscarring and laundry and house work just make sure you don't over do it. Make sure you get plenty of rest because you need it both physically and emotionally! Hope you have a great weekend! God Bless! ~Brittany~
