Question:

Just had a triton T100XR shower (cold mains supply) The pressure is very low although the mains is high?

I was wondering what more i could do? Ive made sure all valves etc are open. The other thing is that the water goes red hot and freezing cold. The book says it could be a problem with pressure as water is heated by slowing down the flow.

Any ideas?

  1. Sorry to tell you this but the shower you installed is a load of c**p and should only be used by hairdressers as the elements are not strong enough to heat the cold incomming water supply in this country, they are ok abroad as the ambient tempreture of the cold water in a hot country is much warmer than ours, the only way you can get a warm shower with one in this country is to turn the water pressure down and this leads to to the low pressure warning, if you do not turn down the incomming cold water then all you get is a cold shower and more so in the winter when the cold water mains is even colder.

In a nut shell these units are basicly a hand wash unit for over a sink.

Ok then i tried to tell you, and come winter it will be even worse to use.

  2. clear the screen in the shower head, when adjusting temp start with hot then open cold to adjust

  3. The usual sensible foreword applies, its not my fault if you do something stupid, Turn off electricity and water before opening the covers and any other precaution in the service/operating leaflet

The control system in the shower detects very high temperature water and, to save you from scalding turns the heater off.  This is why the water goes red hot and freezing cold.

The water flow is too low either because of a blocked shower head (try running it without the head connected) or the internal filter is blocked (p19) or the pressure relief device (p20 item 6 in the instruction leaflet drawing). has opened.

IF the pressure is too high (say the flow is turned down to minimum or the shower head is blocked), the relief device operates shunting water directly to drain (but this should be obvious).

  4. if the cold water feed is 15mm, change it too 22mm

  5. sounds like you have a small isolator valve that isnt in the fully on position...or youre mains hasnt been turned fully on...assuming that youve cleared the debri out of the pipes and shower head!...after the installation...

  6. if your water pressure is high , then it could be your shower, is it a

power shower, if so that is ur problem, have u had a new boiler fitted

recently ,is it a multi- combi.

that  is the problem, if  you, leave, it you will end up with water coming

down your walls/ ur seal on ur toilet may go.

    be  careful,

change  ur  shower, for a mixed multi shower,/taps.

that  is what i had to do , to my shower/ basin

change both sets and they will help with the pressure.

hope  you , get  it sorted out..

  7. The shower could have been wrongly connected to the outlet from the cold water tank. To test if it has turn off mains stop tap ( usually under the sink ) turn on shower if it continues to run for say 2 minutes you will have to get it reconnected to the cold mains supply

  8. hit it with a wrench.
