  1. Your doctor can prescribe you medicine for the physical symptoms of anxiety.

They would also probably recommend counselling for the mental side of your anxiety.

  2. xanax or valium for short term, or one of many anti-anxiety drugs like paxil.

  3. First off, do not just assume one doctor is correct. See a heart specialist and wear a monitor for several days to be sure. Have a heart x-ray and do blood work. This could be a thyroid that is too active. Or...a heart that has a mind of its own. Therefore 'atenenol' type drug can help keep the right side of your heart from telling the left side that it needs to beat faster (nodes). Stress can be a large factor. And yes, anxiety can cause future heart problems. Nip them in the bud NOW! See a specialist.  Also, go to your dentist regularly. Peridontal deseise can cause heart problems as well. Symptoms of heart pain for women is not always, and is usually, not the same as men. Most women including myself will tell you, a heart attack was not a painful experience. In fact other than pressure in my chest like a heavy weight was dropped on me, shortness of breath, numbness in your extremities, or even your legs feeling like you are walking with concrete blocks on your feet, are more of a woman's symptoms. Men are more likely to feel strong chest and arm pain. Take an asprin immediately to thin the blood, to help pass through blocked arteries, and call 911 if these symptoms occur. Never try to drive yourself or your children to hospital.

If it is an anxiety attack, your heart will race uncontrollably, palms will sweat. Chest, shoulders, face, ears even hair area will get very heated. You may feel faint from the experience. This is usually where the feeling of panic kicks in....looking for a way out of the room, to get alone....First, close your eyes, empty your mind and take three medium breaths through your nose, mouth closed, then three deeper breaths. Exhale from your mouth slowly each breath. Imagine your favorite day with your family, hottest movie star, best beach...etc...bring your breaths slow and calmly to a regular state, and focus on the fact that you are still alive, that millions suffer in silence, and you are not going to embarrass yourself....Relax, knowing we are all human, and we all make mistakes. Lie down or sit if possible. If you  have one, pick calming music and place it on your ipod. Take it with you everywhere. If this helps...it is a panic or anxiety attack. Meds are not neccessary, learning to live with stress, and learning to manage your daily life for stress relief is very important, to success...Know that you are loved and that your children need you. Know you are a good person and would be missed, and that many ppl suffer. Find a job you like, this helps give confidence...get outdoors more often..the sun does a world of good...join a gym....walk, sing, smile, be happy. Find your ying-yang and stay in the zone when out in public. Find what upset you and avoid it for a few weeks or until you have made peace with it. Goodluck!

  4. There are different things they will try rx wise, but if that is not something you want to do you should look into counceling.  I myself have anxiety, but try to control it without either.  After you try the meds or counseling you will learn what is best for you, and learn your signs and symtoms and may even be able to get over it on your own.

  5. ask your doctor . that's the best answer i have for you.

you can't really trust people over the internet who aren't doctors.

doctors always have the best answers, they've been through intense training in medical school, and they should help u
