Just had my first ever golf lesson and made contact with the ball on every shot?

some strikes went 100 yards, is this a good start to golf??

  1. Sounds good.  

    To improve more think less about distance and more about nailing down the technique, then practise, practise, practise.

    There are loads of sources you can find tips on training and technique.  Use them.  

    Apart from that you cant go far wrong.

  3. Golf is the hardest to do well at  and that the fact that their hasn't been many great golfers over the years just proves to you that it's a completely hard game to master.

    The thing you can do is watch golf on television and practice, practice and practice.

Actually, it is.  Golf is a tough sport to master.  The guys on TV just make it look easy.  To draw a comparison, think about you learning to run.  Your mom carried you for a few months.  Then you learned to crawl and eventually walk.  Then it became time to run.  Golf is kinda like that.  Some people are going to get it pretty fast, others, it's going to take years.

  5. If you make solid contact, that is all you can ask for.  Distance depends on the club used.  Focus on making solid contact.

  8. depends, if these shots are straight. shots unintendedly going to the left and right are no good. you should get their through more practice eventually.
