had the 2 lower wisdom teeth removed on monday. after the surgery, the bleeding was very minimal and only lasted until I arrived home, by then i was ready to take out the gauze. i have been following all the rules, like not drinking through a straw or spitting and ive been eating pastina, soup, and pudding. i have little to no pain daily.. (only need to take motrin once a day) but last night while i was rinsing with salt water, i bled. I bled enough where i actually needed to put some gauze in my mouth (only on 1 side) and it continued constantly for about an hour. after that, i went to bed and woke up with a pinkish tint in my saliva. I have been fine since then. Mom says It doesnt hurt to go into the dentist but i do not want to irritate my mouth and go and open wide if its feeling completely normal now. any thoughts? is this even normal? i mean, im going on day 4 and when this happened it was day 3.

  1. not necessarily normal, but it can happen.  happened to my friend.  just go easy on them and you'll be fine.  and don't smoke!

  2. No worries at all.  Just a little bit of bleeding.  Keep it up with the salt water rinses to toughen your gums.  You'll be fine in a few days.

  3. it doesnt sound that bad to me but i'm not a dentist. if you have dental insurance it shouldnt be that big of a deal to go get checked out just to be on the safe side...maybe your incision opened up or something.

    good luck
