  1. Dig a ditch it can float in, haul out anchor into deeper water and pull with winch, pull with another ship, call insurance agency and let them deal with it after collecting more than the ship was worth.

  2. Wait for high tide remove some of cargo or weight  and get a tug and hopefully it will pull off the beach,

  3. you get a boat that allready in the water to drag it out with a rope

    =D

  4. If you're refering to a big ship. Most of the time the ship is stuck forever, and they will send a scrap company out and cut it up to be recycled.

  5. All this presumes your boat is rather small and can be handled by another boat of similar size and a few extra hands.

Hopefully, you beached it during a normal tide (either high or low) and not during a storm.  Storm surge can add significantly to the total tide and you'd be beached well away from the water available during even the highest of monthly tides.

If you beached her yourself, then check your tide tables for that area and determine the day and time when the highest Neap tide ocurrs.,  You will need some assistance from another boat if you plan to turn the stern out to sea. or if possible from a vehicle on shore pulling the bow from the side.

with the stern wet, another boat off shore and any assistance from the shoreline , you may be able to push her back out.

Thor, made an excellent reference.  I have run aground a few times and used my dingy to drop an anchor then winch her back out. works if your not completely beached.

  6. You have to wait for a suitable tide, or dig it out, or dismantle it. In the meantime, it might break its back.

  7. Dig a canal around the boat on the beach.  Wait for high tide to float her off.

    OR

place planks from boat to water, lift boat onto rollers and push her off ( a JCB helps ).  This is the West Indies Islands way, they build their boats/ships on beaches rather than in dry docks.
